Goodbye London Video!

Today is the world premiere of my new animated video for Goodbye London!
The song reflects the bittersweet feelings that I have towards London and the video interprets those feelings really well.
It was written and directed by my friend Murray John who’s worked with the Stones, AC/DC, Roxette and others.
Looks great in fullscreen mode! ;-)

Luke Launches New Album, 45, Video at the Rivoli

Thursday November 6th show features Luke's full band and a string quartet for one night only!
Luke Jackson’s third album “...And Then Some” was recorded at the all-analogue Aerosol Grey Machine studio in Southern Sweden with producer Christoffer Lundquist (Roxette, Cardigans, Concretes etc). The strings were arranged by Londoner Robert Kirby (Nick Drake, Elvis Costello, John Cale etc) and were performed by nine players from Malmö’s Opera Orchestra. This is also the launch for “Come Tomorrow”, the first single from the album (YES, a real 45!) and the accompanying video, shot in Toronto last Winter. Also available will be a limited edition audiophile LP of the album, half-speed mastered by the legendary Stan Ricker (Dark Side Of The Moon, Joe’s Garage, Brothers In Arms), pressed on 180-gram vinyl in a beautiful gatefold sleeve.
Early reviews of the album have been uniformly ebullient:
“All the comparisons that could easily be made with the likes of Neil Young, George Martin and Brian Wilson become obliterated by the sheer songwriting strength of Jackson’s musical personality by the end of the album. He has effortlessly created his own sophisticated pop-rock sound that breathes a musical passion, allowing him to stand outside the shadows of his predecessors. …And Then Some is everything you could ask for: passionate and uncomplicated feel-good music, and then some.” 8.8/10 - Alexander Jasperse, The Muse’s Muse
“I truly enjoyed the simple fact that I couldn’t predict where the progressions and the melodies were headed based on an intro, and Jackson’s writing displays ample savvy and cunning - the kind that come only with maturity. The pillowy-soft orchestral arrangements? Good songs are made even better. George Martin would definitely approve.” - Simon Harrison, Wainwright Edge
This special one-off show features Jackson’s band (David Celia, Chris Lamont and Ryan Luchuck) along with a string quartet led by the fantastic Kevin Fox. Opening set from the wonderful Jeremy Robinson.
What: Delightful guitar-heavy power pop and string-laden ballads. Where:The Rivoli 334 Queen St. W., Toronto. When: Thursday, November 6th. EARLY SHOW ALERT! Doors at 7.30. Jeremy Robinson at 8.30, Luke Jackson at 9.30 Cover: $10.00 ($20.00 includes a copy of the new CD, $25.00 the LP)
